Using technology to foster growth in marginal contexts

In these recent years the extraordinary revolution made by Information Technology and Service Design has brought people interactions to a new level in terms of speed and
complexity.

Today, almost everywhere in the world, with an internet connection, a cheap device and the right app we can do such incredible things and change deeply the way we live our
life. With the right mix of creativity and technology, indeed, it's possible to effectively improve people's life, environmental sustainability and thus the future of our habitat: the
cities.

Improving the level of sustainability in urban contexts is the biggest challenge of our generation. And thus we cannot fail it.

PUSH, as an associate partner of the World Urban Campaign and its initiative I’m City Changer, has been selected to coordinate the organization of an Urban Thinkers
Campus in Palermo. The Campus, entitled City as a Service, will focus on digital innovative services for the cities of the future. This topic has a crucial value in Palermo, a beautiful city but full of contradictions, placed
in the middle of the Mediterranean sea but in the suburbs of Europe. The Campus can be thus an opportunity to present innovative services as well as effective practices
adaptable to similar marginal contexts.

During these three days issues related to civil society, the role of business and research and the commitment of the public administration in the creation of services that affect urban development will be covered.

The sustainable development of the cities of the future is definitely up to us.
