I. ECTP-CEU News

ExCo & GA:

The ECTP-CEU Executive Committee met on September 8, and the next ECTP-CEU General Assembly will be held in Brussels, 16 & 17th November, at its new headquarters.


Call for intern:

The European Council of Spatial Planners is recruiting an intern.

Under the responsibility of the Secretary General, your mission is to develop the Planning information available in each of the published country web pages.

The current information needs to be updated and enhanced.

Working languages is English and/or French.

Working at distance by telecommuting, possible meetings in Brussels.

Internship duration is 3 to 6 months.

This is an unpaid internship; working hours are totally flexible.

Our intern should be interested and competent in Spatial Planning, such as in final year of Master or similar.

II. News from ECTP-CEU Members

1.- News from ASSURB, Italy
- Federico Oliva died on September 8. He was one of the leading characters of INU: President from 2006 to 2013; Director of the journal "Urbanistica" from 2014 until now.

- The annual event "Urbanpromo Green 2018" will be held (20-21 September) in Venice.
Urbanpromo Green, as well as other "Urbanpromo" events, is organised by "Urbit" ("Urbanistica Italiana S.r.l."), a private law company of INU. Futher information:

2.- Serbian Town Planners Association (STPA)
The main annual professional gathering of urban planners and designers in Serbia and neighboring countries is the 27th International Urban Planners Exhibition in Ruma (Serbia), November 8-13, 2018.
The exhibition organizers also welcome all international participants to exhibit their works in urban planning and design, as well as in close disciplines.

2.- Norwegian FKP

The Norwegian FKPs annual field trip is organised this year in Växjö and Gøteborg in Sweden.
This event usualy brings together between 20 - 50 planners. Last year it was inin Utrecht and in 2016 in Hamburg; FKP has a proud tradition of seeking inspiration from abroad, and bringing home the best possible practices.

FKPs next annual, national planning conference "Kommuneplankonferansen" will be held in Halden, 11-12 Febrary 2019.
The conference brings together more than 200 planners.
The number of norwegian municipalities, which govern all local planning authorities, is to be reduced from about 420 to 350. Centralisation of people is an ongoing process, and the conference will focus this year on related topics.

- Second International Conference on Urban Planning ICUP 2018 will be held in Niš, Serbia. 14 – 17 November.
